Nga Mahi A Rehia (Maori Performing Arts) Grants

PURPOSE:

To support the retention of all forms of Ngati Whakaue Waiata and Haka and consider applications from Learning Institutions, Kapahaka Group,  Marae or hapu.

The Board also supports the development and performance of contemporary song embodied in a Kapahaka performance.

The objective is to recognise collective cultural endeavours of Learning Institutions, Marae and hapu/iwi and promote and uphold Ngati Whakaue performing arts and tikanga a Marae.

Kapahaka is a cultural performance of waiata and haka.

  • SCHOOL TEAMS:  NATIONAL and REGIONAL Kapa Haka Competitions:

    - Application must be made using the ONLINE form:  See link below

    - Applications must be submitted within a reasonable timeframe prior to the event.

        

  •  SENIOR TEAMS / Events:

 - Refer points 6 & 7 in policy.

- Applications must be submitted within ample timeframe prior to the event to enable the Board to consider your application.

Applications must be submitted within a reasonable timeframe prior to the event.

  • Application can ONLY be made using the ONLINE form.
  • Applicants will be notified by email of the Board’s decision and, if successful, any payments to be made.
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide a report following the event (details in application form) 
PROCESS:
Ensure you have saved digital copies of the following: (you cannot submit your application without uploading these documents)
Files must be saved as .pdf, .jpg or .png only.  (.pdf is preferred format)GOOGLE Docs are not accepted
  • List of Kaihaka (list showing full names of all Kaihaka)
  • Budget (detailed budget outlining costs)
  • Bank account details (must show full bank account and name of account holder)
